The Embroidery Process
There are many factors that go into creating high-quality embroidered apparel. One of our skilled artists will work with you to either create a custom design for digitizing or refine your existing artwork to make it embroidery-ready. Throughout the process, we collaborate closely with you and provide proofs to ensure the final result meets your expectations.
Every design is custom digitized from scratch. Once the digitized logo is complete, we produce a sew-out sample to test the design on various fabrics and thread densities. This critical step ensures proper stitch coverage, durability, and visual accuracy before the design is applied to the final product.

Proofs
We make the embroidery process seamless. Whether you start with a hand-drawn sketch or a polished logo, our team works with you every step of the way to create exceptional embroidered products. Our curated catalog offers a wide range of embroidery-ready items, from custom hand towels to premium embroidered outerwear.
You’ll receive detailed proofs to preview your design with accuracy and confidence. Looking to start small? Our low order minimums allow you to sample your design across multiple products or color options before scaling up production.
Digitizing
Digitizing is the process of converting your logo into a stitch file that our SWF Embroidery Machines can read. Each design is redrawn from scratch by our experienced digitizers to ensure clean lines, proper stitch flow, and consistent results. Every logo is digitized with fabric type in mind. Stitch types are selected based on the size, detail, and structure of each design element. While satin stitch is most commonly used, pattern fills and run stitches are applied when the design requires it. Stitch density, stitch length, underlay, and stitch type are adjusted for each fabric and application, ensuring durable, high-quality embroidery with a professional finish.
Sew Out Samples
A sew-out sample is then embroidered on the specific fabric the design was digitized for. At this stage, thread density and stitch settings can be fine-tuned to ensure optimal results. Because different fabrics have unique properties, the sew-out sequence and stitch behavior may vary depending on the material.
For hats, the sew-out process begins at the center of the design and works outward, stitching one side first before returning to the center to complete the opposite side. This method helps maintain proper alignment and shape on structured surfaces.
During the sew-out stage, we can also test embroidery styles such as puff or flat, as well as different sizes and thread color options, ensuring the final product meets your expectations before full production.

Tips for embroidery
-
Left Chest
For a typical left chest embroidery, the ideal design has a maximum dimension of 3.5″ – 4.0″ wide. There are exceptions when a design has one dimension that is several times larger than the other. The size of many designs are dictated by the smallest text in the design. We will size your design appropriately based on our experience.
-
Small Text
The smallest text we can embroider with real accuracy is about 0.25 inch high. We can make adjustments to your design to compensate for slight variations. Typically, a single line of text can only include about 20 characters and spaces before it requires the text to be split into two lines.
-
Hat Guidelines
The maximum height for a headwear design is 2.50 inch high. On visors, the maximum height is 1 inch tall. The width may be as wide as 5″ or even more. Embroidery on the back of a cap may be included for an additional cost. This is a great location for a Web address or to personalize the cap with a team members name.
